This October, Kocurek Elementary’s 5th graders will travel to H-E-B Foundation Camp in Leakey, Texas, for a three-day, two-night overnight camping experience. As a Title 1 school with the majority of our students identified as economically disadvantaged, for many of our students, this will be their first opportunity to attend an overnight camp, spend extended time exploring nature, and experience learning outside of the classroom.
Donations will help make this experience accessible to every student, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. Funds may be used to help cover transportation, camp costs, meals and snacks, camping and personal supplies, and scholarships for students who need financial assistance.
Our goal is simple: we don’t want cost to be the reason a child misses this experience.
